47 Ronin 2013 Film

47 Ronin is a 2013 American fantasy action film depicting a fictional account of the forty-seven Ronin, a real-life group of Ronin(master-less samurai) in 18th-century Japan who avenged the murder of their master (stories, plays and other dramatic performances of the 47 Ronin story are commonly referred to as Chūshingura in Japan). Produced by Universal Studios, the film is directed by Carl Rinsch and stars Keanu Reeves and Hiroyuki Sanada. Filming started in Budapest in March 2011; it moved to Shepperton Studios in London and was concluded in Japan.
Variety reported the film as a costly box office disaster which left Universal Studios deeply in the red for 2013. [4]In feudal Japan, Kai is a half-Japanese, half-British outcast who lives in the village of Ako, ruled by the benevolent Lord Asano Naganori, who once found a young Kai lost in the woods and accepted him into his domain. Despite being rejected by the samurai led by Oishi due to his ancestry, Kai becomes a skilled warrior and falls in love with Asano's daughter, Mika.
Ahead of the arrival of Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, Ako is visited by his master of ceremonies, Lord Kira, who becomes attracted to Mika. He arranges a fight between his best soldier, the Lovecraftian Samurai, and one of Oishi's men, Yasuno, who is later found under the spell of Kira's adviser, the witch Mizuki. Kai takes his place and fights the Lovecraftian Samurai, but is defeated and humiliated. Later that night, Mizuki bewitches Asano into believing Kira is raping Mika, causing Asano to attack an unarmed Kira, an offense punishable by death. The Shogun allows Asano to die honorably by committing seppuku, and brands Oishi and his menRonin. Kira demands to marry Mika, but the Shogun grants her one year to mourn the death of her father, and forbids the Ronin from seeking revenge. To ensure this, Kira traps Oishi in a well in an attempt to break his spirit.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 2011 Film

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (commonly referred to as Breaking Dawn – Part 1) is a 2011 American romanticfantasy film directed by Bill Condon and based on the novel Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. The first part of a two-part film forms the fourth installment in The Twilight Saga series. All three main cast members, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, reprised their roles.
Wyck Godfrey and Karen Rosenfelt served as executive producers for the film, along with the author of the series, Stephenie Meyer; the screenplay was written by Melissa Rosenberg, the screenwriter of the first three entries.[3] It was released in theatres on November 18, 2011,[4] and released to DVD on February 11, 2012 in the United States.[5] The film grossed over $712 million.Bella Swan plans her wedding to Edward Cullen. During the reception that follows, she is visited by her friend, Jacob Black. While dancing with him, Bella admits that she and Edward plan to consummate their marriage during their honeymoon. Jacob becomes furious, knowing that Edward could easily kill her and runs off into the woods.
The couple spends their honeymoon on Isle Esme, the Cullens' private Brazilian island that Carlisle had given to Esme as a gift. Although hesitant, Edward has sex with Bella for the first time. The next morning, he realizes that he bruised Bella during sex and is furious with himself for hurting her, vowing to never be intimate with her again, much to her disappointment. She tries tirelessly to seduce him, and he finally gives in to her. Two weeks into their honeymoon, Bella discovers that she is pregnant. Despite the fact that she has only been pregnant for a few days, the baby is growing at an accelerated rate. They rush back home. When Bella realizes that Edward intends to kill her baby, she is horrified, already having grown attached to it. She enlists the help of Edward's sister, Rosalie, who has always wanted a child, to protect her baby.
Jacob rushes over to the Cullen's and finds Bella already heavily pregnant and frail. He informs the pack and, opposed to Sam Uley's plans to kill Bella and her child, which is thought to be a demon, he angrily leaves the pack and arrives at the Cullens' to protect Bella. His tribe-mates, Seth and Leah Clearwater, join him, forming a new wolf pack. As the pregnancy progresses, Bella's health severely deteriorates. As a last resort, she begins drinking human blood, which satisfies the fetus' vampiric thirst. Soon after, Bella goes into a painful labor and gives birth to her daughter, Renesmee. To save her life, Edward injects Bella's heart with his venom to transform her into a vampire, but nothing seems to happen and Bella is thought to be dead. Greatly distraught, Jacob attempts to kill the baby, but stops when he realizes he has imprinted on the child.
When the werewolves learn of Bella's death, they attack the Cullens' house in an attempt to kill the baby. They are forced to stop after learning Jacob has imprinted on Renesmee. Carlisle notices there's a slight pulse and tells the Cullens. After Bella's body is cleaned and dressed, her wounds from her difficult labor heal as the venom spreads through her body. Bella's heart finally ceases, and she awakens as a newborn vampire.
In a post-credits scene, the Volturi hear about Bella's conversion; Aro notes that it does not end their dispute with the Cullens, proclaiming, "They have something I want".

Jack the Giant Slayer 2013 Film

Jack the Giant Slayer (previously titled Jack the Giant Killer) is a 2013 American fantasy adventure film based on the English fairy tales "Jack the Giant Killer" and "Jack and the Beanstalk". The film is directed by Bryan Singer with a screenplay written by Darren Lemke, Christopher McQuarrie and Dan Studney and stars Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson, Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane, Bill Nighy and Ewan McGregor. The film tells the story of Jack, a young farmhand who must rescue a princess from a race of giants after inadvertently opening a gateway to their world.
Development of Jack the Giant Slayer began in 2005, when Lemke first pitched the idea. D. J. Caruso was hired to direct the film in January 2009, but in September of that year, Caruso was replaced by Singer, who hired McQuarrie and Studney to rework the script. The main characters were cast between February and March 2011, and principal photography began in April 2011 in England with locations in Somerset, Gloucestershire and Norfolk. Release of the film was moved back in post-production to allow more time for special effects and marketing.

Jack the Giant Slayer premiered on February 26, 2013 in Hollywood and was released theatrically in the United States on March 1, 2013 in 2D and 3D. The film received mixed reviews from most film critics and was considered a financial disappointment, losing between $125 million and $140 million for Legendary Pictures. Jack the Giant Slayer was released on home media on June 18, 2013.

In the Kingdom of Cloister, Jack, a young farm boy, is fascinated by the legend of Erik, an ancient king who defeated an army of invading giants from a realm in the sky by controlling them with a magical crown. At the same time, Princess Isabelle becomes fascinated with the same legend.
Ten years later, Jack goes into town to sell his horse to support his uncle's farm. There, Jack spots Isabelle and develops a crush on her after defending her honor from a group of hooligans. Meanwhile, Lord Roderick returns to his study, only to find that a monk has robbed him. The monk offers Jack some magic beans he stole from Roderick as collateral for Jack's horse. Back at the castle, Isabelle quarrels with her father, King Brahmwell, as she wants to explore the kingdom, but he wants her to stay and marry Roderick. Likewise, Jack's uncle scolds him for being foolish before throwing the beans on the floor and leaving the house.
Determined to be free, Isabelle sneaks out of the castle and seeks shelter from the rain in Jack's house. As it rains, one of the beans takes root and grows into a massive beanstalk that carries the house and Isabelle into the sky as Jack falls to the ground.
Jack, Roderick, and Roderick's attendant Wicke volunteer to join the king's knights, led by Elmont and his second in-command, Crawe, and climb the beanstalk in search of Isabelle. As they climb, Roderick and Wicke cut the safety rope, intentionally killing some of the knights. At the top, they discover the giants' realm and decide to split into two groups: one with Jack, Elmont, and Crawe, and the other including Roderick and Wicke, but not before Roderick forcibly takes the remaining beans from Jack (although Jack manages to save one for himself).
Jack's group is trapped by a giant, who takes everyone prisoner except Jack. Meanwhile, Roderick's group encounters two other giants; one eats Wicke, but before they can do the same to Roderick, Roderick dons the magic crown.
Jack follows the giant to the giants' stronghold, where the two-headed giant leader, Fallon, has killed Crawe. There, Jack finds the imprisoned Isabelle and Elmont. As the giants prepare to kill their remaining prisoners, Roderick walks in and enslaves the giants with the crown. He tells the giants they will attack Cloister at dawn and gives them permission to eat Isabelle and Elmont. Jack rescues Isabelle and Elmont as one of the giants prepares to cook Elmont as a pig-in-a-blanket. The trio makes for the beanstalk, where Jack causes the giant guarding the beanstalk to fall off the realm's edge. Seeing the giant's body, Brahmwell orders the beanstalk cut down to avoid an invasion by the giants.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 2013 Film

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 is a 2013 American computer-animated comic science fiction comedy film produced by Sony Pictures Animation and distributed by Columbia Pictures. The film is the sequel to the 2009 film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, which was loosely based on Judi and Ron Barrett's book of the same name. It was directed by Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn, produced by Kirk Bodyfelt, and executive produced by the directors of the first film, Phil Lord and Chris Miller.[2] The film was released on September 27, 2013.[6]

The screenplay was written by John Francis Daley, Jonathan Goldstein, and Erica Rivinoja,[2] and it is based on an original story idea, not on that of Pickles to Pittsburgh, the Barretts' follow-up book.[7] Cloudy 2 continues right after the first film, in which a food-making machine gets out of control, but its creator—young inventor Flint—manages to stop it with the help of his friends. In the sequel, Flint and his friends are forced to leave their home town, but when the food machine reawakens—this time producing sentient food beasts—they must return to save the world.

Most of the main cast reprised their roles: Bill Hader as Flint Lockwood, Anna Faris as Sam Sparks, James Caan as Tim Lockwood,Andy Samberg as Brent McHale, Neil Patrick Harris as Steve, and Benjamin Bratt as Manny. Will Forte, who voiced Joseph Towne in the first film, voices Chester V in this one. New cast includes Kristen Schaal as orangutan Barb and Terry Crews as Officer Earl, replacing Mr. T in the role.[7]

After Flint Lockwood and his friends save the world from the food storm in the first film, super-inventor Chester V, the CEO of Live Corp, is tasked to clean the island. He relocates Flint, his friends, and the citizens of Swallow Falls to San Franjose, California. Unbeknownst to Flint, the FLDSMDFR survived the explosion and landed in the center of the island, and Chester is determined to find it. Chester invites Flint, his biggest fan, to work at Live Corp, where he meets Chester's assistant Barb, a talking orangutan with human intelligence. Six months later, Flint humiliates himself during a promotion ceremony when his invention, the "Celebrationator Party-In-A-Box", explodes. Meanwhile, Chester is informed that his search-parties on the island have been attacked by monstrous cheeseburgers which are learning how to swim. Seemingly fearing the world's inevitable doom, Chester tasks Flint to find the FLDSMDFR and destroy it once and for all. Flint however, is unaware that Chester is evil and has plans for the FLDSMDFR. Despite Chester's demands to keep the mission classified, Flint recruits his girlfriend, meteorologist Sam Sparks; her cameraman Manny; police officer Earl Devereaux; Steve, a monkey who communicates via a device on his head; and "Chicken" Brent. Much to Flint's dismay, his father Tim joins the crew and they travel to Swallow Falls on his fishing boat.

Upon arriving back at Swallow Falls, they notice that a jungle-like environment has overgrown the island. Tim stays behind while Flint and the others investigate, finding a vast habitat of living food animals called foodimals and meet a cute strawberry named Barry (named by Sam). Tim, searching for food at his abandoned tackle shop, encounters a family of humanoid pickles and bonds with them by fishing. Chester discovers that Flint allowed his friends to join him on the mission, so he travels to the island with Barb, chagrined and determined to separate them. After escaping a Tacodile attack, Sam notices that the foodimal was protecting its family, and begins to suspect Chester is up to no good. Flint finds his former lab and invents a device that can track the FLDSMDFR. Sam attempts to convince Flint to spare the foodimals, but Flint is intent on making Chester proud. Sam leaves in anger, and Flint's other companions go with her (including Steve). In the jungle, Manny confirms Sam's suspicions when he reverses the Live Corp logo to reveal that is is in fact "Evil Corp". In addition, Sam proves that the foodimals mean no harm by taming a Cheespider. Upon realizing Chester's intentions, the group is then ambushed by Evil Corp employees.

Afraid of hurting her sister again, Elsa spends most of her time alone in her room, causing a rift between the girls as they grow up. When the girls are teenagers, their parents die at sea during a storm.
When Elsa comes of age, the kingdom prepares for her coronation. Among the guests is the Duke of Weselton, a tradesman seeking to exploit Arendelle for profit. Excited to be allowed out of the castle again, Anna explores the town and meets Prince Hans of the Southern Isles, and the two immediately develop a mutual attraction. Despite Elsa's fear, her coronation goes off without incident. During the reception, Hans proposes and Anna hastily accepts. However, Elsa refuses to grant her blessing and forbids their sudden marriage. The sisters argue, culminating in Elsa's abilities being exposed in an emotional outburst.
Panicking, Elsa flees the palace, inadvertently unleashing an eternal winter on the kingdom in the process. High in the nearby mountains, she casts off restraint, building herself a solitary ice palace, and unknowingly brings to life her and Anna's childhood snowman, Olaf. Meanwhile, Anna sets out in search of her sister, determined to return her to Arendelle, end the winter, and mend their relationship. While getting supplies, she meets mountain man Kristoff and his reindeer Sven. She convinces him to guide her up the North Mountain. The group then encounters Olaf, who leads them to Elsa's hideaway.

The Nut Job 2014 Film

This is an action-packed comedy in fictional Oakton that follows the travails of Surly, a mischievous squirrel, and his rat friend Buddy, who plan a nut store heist of outrageous proportions and unwittingly find themselves embroiled in a much more complicated and hilarious adventure. The Nut Job is a 2014 3D Canadian-South Korean-American computer-animated comedy film directed by Peter Lepeniotis. It is written by Lorne Cameron and Peter Lepeniotis, starring Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, Gabriel Iglesias, Liam Neeson and Katherine Heigl with supporting roles by Robert Tinkler, Jeff Dunham, Stephen Lang, Maya Rudolph, and Sarah Gadon. The film is based on the 2005 short animated film Surly Squirrel by Lepeniotis.[6] It was released on January 17, 2014, by Open Road Films.[7] With a budget of $42.8 million, it is the most expensive animated film co-produced in South Korea.[2].In 1959, in the fictional town of Oakton, a group of animals, led by a Raccoon (Liam Neeson) and his Cardinal assistant (who mostly chirps), store food for winter in a giant tree in the park. Raccoon is informed by his servant Mole that there is a food shortage in the park. Among these animals is a selfish purple squirrel named Surly (Will Arnett), whose thieving reputation has made him an outcast. His only friend is his rat partner Buddy (Robert Tinkler). Surly's attempt to rob a peanut cart goes haywire when it is impeded by Raccoon's helpers, a compassionate orange squirrel named Andie (Katherine Heigl) and the 'park hero', a gray squirrel named Grayson (Brendan Fraser) whose heroic antics prove to be incompetent. After Andie unsuccessfully tries to talk Surly into being more selfless, Surly tries to get a bag of nuts while the owner Lucky (Scott Yaphe) gets distracted by a bratty girl scout customer (Julie Lemieux) and a police officer (Scott McCord) that the girl issues her complaint to. This heist also gets invaded by the pet pug of the owner of the cart named Precious (Maya Rudolph). After fending her off by having her bite the pipe of a propane tank, Surly and Buddy escape with the cart and Andie manages to guide it to the park. Surly threatens Andie and Grayson with a torch, unwilling to share the food, but accidentally causes it to ricochet across the park. Although the animals (except for Grayson) get off safely, the cart is sent into the tree, where it explodes-- along with the tree and the animals' food supply. When Surly is identified as the culprit, Raccoon banishes Surly from the park following a unanimous vote forcing him to survive in the city.

Although Buddy insists on being with Surly, Surly insists that Buddy leave him after he unknowingly
contributed to Surley's exile. After escaping from wild street rats, Surly and Buddy find a nut store called Maury's Nut Shop and attempt to rob it to feed themselves. After entering the store, they discover that it's a criminal hideout used by Lucky, his associate Fingers (James Rankin), their mob boss King (Stephen Lang) who has recently gotten out of jail, his silent partner Knuckles, and his girlfriend Lana (Sarah Gadon). Raccoon sends Andie and Grayson to find food only for them to get separated upon Grayson fighting a rat. Precious also serves as the guard dog there. King plans to rob the Oaken Bank and replace the cash with nuts. Surly and Buddy see that the only way to get to the nuts and to avoid Precious is with a dog whistle one of the crooks has. The two of them are thrown out by Fingers since he can hear it. While trying to find the whistle, Surly crosses paths with Andie who gets the whistle and threatens to dispose of it if Surly doesn't share the food he's going to take. Reluctantly, Surly accepts and unwittingly befriends Precious after threatening her with the whistle. Andie informs the park of the plan. Although they have a lack of faith in Surly, Raccoon and the rest of the park animals agree to go along with it. Andie gets help from Mole and the Bruisers, a family of Groundhogs consisting of Jimmy (Gabriel Iglesias), Johnny (Joe Pingue), and Jamie (Annick Obonsawin).

When the first attempt to rob the store fails, Surly eventually learns from Andie that Raccoon planned on double crossing him and Surly leaves after an argument. Back at the park, Raccoon's true colors are revealed, a power hungry con artist who keeps food from the animals to have his leadership kept and only Mole and Cardinal know about it. Surley ends up chasing after King's truck as the animals help him while Grayson fights off Cardinal. While in the truck upon Raccoon's arrival, Mole defects from Raccoon and reveals this info to the animals with Surly resulting in Raccoon being voted out of the park community. King and Knuckles try to use dynamite to blow the police out, but the truck hangs over the bridge. Surly gets himself and Andie off the truck as the dynamite goes off inside the truck and as it (alongside King, Knuckles, and Raccoon who are still inside it) falls down into the river, but they eventually fall down into it. Surly makes it to a log, but Raccoon reveals to have survived the explosion along with King and Knuckles. Raccoon tries to kill Surly, but the nuts make weight that begins to break the log. The animals arrive to rescue them, but Raccoon won't give up. So Surly, deciding to be selfless in order to protect his friends, sacrifices himself by letting go of the log and going over the waterfall with Raccoon apparently. The animals, now seeing the good side of Surly, mourn him in honor of the most selfless act he committed in years.

The food makes its way into the park, where the animals gather around in joy for their food troubles are over. King and his associates are arrested as Lana appears to end her relationship with King. Andie and Buddy are still mourning over Surly and when Precious finds out what happened to her friend, she eventually finds Surly's apparent dead body near the river. She has Buddy come and look at it. Doleful to see his best friend gone, Buddy says his first two words "best friend". Surly reveals that he was actually unconscious and hugs Buddy and Precious licks Surly's face (which she wanted to do since she got involved in Surly's heist) and leaves to meet up with Lana who plans to run Maury's Nut Shop in Fingers' place. Finding that Surly is alright, Andie embraces him and tries to get him to come to the other animals so he can tell of his heroism. But Surly, feeling as though it was the other animals that were the true heroes, refuses yet gains a willingness to work with others. He goes along to the city with Buddy, possibly to pull off another caper.

During the credits, the animals and humans dance with PSY as he performs "Gangnam Style." In a mid-credits scene, Raccoon and Cardinal are shown to have survived the ordeal and are sulking on a harbor buoy surrounded by sharks while trying to come up with another plan. In the post-credits, Precious chases Mole who is holding a bone.
